Dental Implants Cost Guide 2026

Book Appointment

“How much will this cost?” is almost always the second question we get, right after “will it work.” Fair enough — a dental implant is a real investment, and you deserve a straight, specific answer before you book anything. This guide breaks down exactly what goes into the price, what changes it, and what insurance and CDCP actually cover in 2026.

The Short Answer

A single dental implant at Millrise Dental typically runs $3,000 to $5,000 CAD all-in — post, abutment, and crown included. If you need a bone graft first, add $500 to $3,000 depending on how much rebuilding is needed. Replacing a full arch with All-on-4 is priced very differently — see the All-on-4 section below.

What You’re Actually Paying For

A single implant isn’t one line item — it’s three separate components, each priced on its own:

  • Implant post — the titanium screw placed into the jawbone: $1,000–$1,800
  • Abutment — the connector between the post and the crown: $300–$500
  • Crown — the custom ceramic tooth visible above the gum: $1,200–$2,200

Your consultation, digital X-rays, and 3D imaging are included in treatment planning — they’re not billed separately on top of the above. You’ll get a complete written estimate before any treatment begins, so there’s nothing added after the fact.

What Pushes the Price Up (or Down)

Bone Graft

If you’ve been missing the tooth for a while, the jawbone underneath may have shrunk too far to anchor an implant directly. A graft rebuilds it first, adding $500 to $3,000 depending on how much bone needs to be replaced, plus a few months of healing time before the implant itself is placed.

Same-Day vs. Lab-Made Crown

For eligible cases, we mill your crown in-office with CEREC technology — same price, but one fewer appointment and no weeks-long wait on a lab.

How Many Teeth You’re Replacing

The per-tooth price above is for a single implant. If you’re missing several teeth or an entire arch, the math changes — placing 4–6 implants to support a full bridge (All-on-4) is significantly less than the same number of standalone single implants. See our All-on-4 page for full-arch pricing.

Does Insurance or CDCP Cover Any of This?

Many private Alberta dental plans cover roughly 50% of the crown portion, and classify the implant post as a major restorative procedure subject to your annual maximum — coverage varies a lot between plans. We submit a pre-authorization to your insurer before treatment starts, so you know your real out-of-pocket number before you commit to anything.

The Canada Dental Care Plan (CDCP) does not cover dental implants at this time — see our full CDCP coverage breakdown for implants and orthodontics if you’re a CDCP patient weighing your options. If cost is the main barrier, we also offer financing through iFinance Canada, with monthly plans across 12–24 months — many patients find a single implant fits comfortably into a monthly budget once it’s spread out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do implant prices vary so much between clinics?

Implant brand, whether the crown is milled in-house or sent to an outside lab, and whether a bone graft is needed all affect price. Be wary of a quote that’s dramatically below market range — ask what’s actually included (post, abutment, crown, imaging) before comparing numbers.

Is a cheaper implant a worse implant?

Not necessarily, but price differences usually trace back to materials, lab quality, or what’s bundled into the quote. We give you a complete written estimate itemizing exactly what you’re paying for, so you can compare it against any other quote line by line.

How much does a full mouth of implants cost?

Replacing an entire arch tooth-by-tooth with standalone implants would be very expensive and usually isn’t necessary. All-on-4 replaces a full arch using just four implants supporting a fixed bridge — see our All-on-4 implants page for that pricing specifically.

Get a Real Number, Not a Range

Every mouth is different, and the only way to get an exact price is a consultation with imaging. Not sure you’re even a candidate yet? Start with our dental implants candidacy guide. Ready to see full details on the procedure itself? Visit our Dental Implants page.
