All-on-4 Dental Implants in Calgary — A Full Arch, Just Four Implants

If you’re missing most or all of your teeth in an arch — or you’ve been told you don’t have enough bone for traditional implants — All-on-4 is very likely the option worth a closer look. It replaces an entire arch of teeth with a fixed, permanent bridge supported by just four strategically angled implants, in a single surgical appointment. No removable denture, no daily adhesive, no separate implant for every single tooth.

What Is All-on-4?

All-on-4 is a fixed, full-arch tooth replacement that anchors an entire arch of prosthetic teeth to just four dental implants — no individual implant needed for every missing tooth, and no removable plate that comes out at night. Two implants are placed straight at the front of the arch; the other two are angled toward the back, into the densest available bone.

The result is a single permanent bridge, fixed in place the same way your natural teeth are rooted — you eat, speak, and smile without it shifting, and you care for it the same way you would your own teeth.

What Makes All-on-4 Different

Traditional full-arch restoration can mean 6–8 individual implants, or a removable denture that clips onto a few implants. All-on-4 uses exactly four implants per arch — two placed straight at the front, two placed at an angle toward the back where bone is naturally denser. That angled placement is the key innovation: it maximizes contact with available bone, which is why All-on-4 works for many patients who’ve been told they don’t qualify for standard implants.

  • Fixed, not removable — the bridge is permanently attached, not taken out at night like a denture.
  • Works with less bone — angled rear implants often mean a bone graft isn’t needed even with significant bone loss.
  • One surgical appointment — all four implants are placed in a single visit, not staged over months.
  • Same-day temporary teeth — most patients leave with a functional temporary bridge the same day, while the permanent one is fabricated.

Are You a Candidate for All-on-4?

All-on-4 is generally the right fit if you’re missing most or all of the teeth in an arch, wear a denture you’re unhappy with, or have been told you have insufficient bone for standard implants. It’s specifically designed for exactly that last situation.

Not sure yet whether All-on-4 or single implants make more sense for your situation? Start with our dental implants candidacy guide — it covers both paths.

Every Case Gets a Dedicated Consultation

Because All-on-4 involves surgical planning specific to your jaw anatomy, every case starts with a full consultation and 3D imaging — not a generic quote. We map your bone structure, confirm implant positioning, and give you a complete written treatment plan and cost estimate before anything is scheduled.

How Much Does All-on-4 Cost in Calgary?

Because All-on-4 pricing depends on how many implants your case needs, whether one or both arches are involved, and your specific bone structure, we don’t quote a number until we’ve seen your imaging — a ballpark figure without that information isn’t a real estimate. Contact us for a personalized quote after your consultation, and you’ll leave with a complete written cost estimate before any treatment is scheduled.

That estimate covers the implants themselves, the surgical placement, the same-day temporary bridge, and the final permanent bridge — one complete number, not line items added on later. Compare it to the alternative: replacing a full arch tooth-by-tooth with individual implants would mean 6 or more separate implant-abutment-crown sets — All-on-4 achieves the same fixed, permanent result for meaningfully less.

Your consultation and 3D imaging are included in treatment planning. Coverage for All-on-4 varies significantly by insurance plan and by which portion of the procedure is billed — we submit a pre-authorization before any treatment begins so you know your real cost. The Canada Dental Care Plan (CDCP) does not cover dental implants; see our CDCP coverage guide for details. We also offer financing through iFinance Canada with plans across 12–24 months.

The All-on-4 Process at Millrise Dental

Step 1: Consultation & 3D Imaging

A cone beam CT scan maps your full jaw structure. From this, we build your surgical plan — exact implant positioning and angulation, and a complete cost estimate.

Step 2: Implant Placement & Same-Day Temporary Bridge

All four implants are placed under local anesthetic (with sedation options available) in a single appointment. Most patients leave the same day with a functional temporary bridge already attached.

Step 3: Healing & Osseointegration

Over the following 3–6 months, the implants fuse with your jawbone. You’ll eat and function with the temporary bridge during this time, with periodic check-ins.

Step 4: Final Permanent Bridge

Once healing is complete, your custom-fabricated permanent bridge is fitted and attached — designed to look and function like a natural, full set of teeth.

Frequently Asked Questions About All-on-4

How is All-on-4 different from a denture?

All-on-4 is permanently fixed in place — it doesn’t come out, doesn’t need adhesive, and doesn’t shift while eating or speaking. A denture rests on the gums and can be removed; All-on-4 is anchored to implants in the bone.

I was told I don’t have enough bone for implants — can I still get All-on-4?

Quite possibly, yes. All-on-4’s angled rear implant placement was specifically designed to work with reduced bone volume, which is exactly why many patients turned away from standard implants are good All-on-4 candidates. A 3D imaging consultation will confirm your specific case.

Do I need a bone graft for All-on-4?

Usually not — that’s the main advantage of the angled placement approach. It’s not guaranteed in every case, but far fewer All-on-4 patients need a graft compared to standard single implants.

How long does All-on-4 treatment take from start to finish?

You’ll leave your surgical appointment with a functional temporary bridge the same day. The full process to your final permanent bridge typically takes 3–6 months, during which you’re eating and functioning normally on the temporary.
