At Millrise Dental Clinic, we use state-of-the-art technology and the latest techniques to provide top-notch dentistry to all our patients. This includes same-day CEREC dental crowns, which are made using digital 3D impressions and an in-house milling machine to create beautiful, durable crowns right in our office.
CEREC, also known as same day crowns, are completed in one appointment. Both traditional and CEREC crowns are natural-looking caps that are placed over a damaged, decayed or broken tooth to restore its shape, size and strength or to improve its appearance. The major advantage of a CEREC crown versus a traditional crown is that it can be fabricated and permanently placed the same day. Traditional ceramic crowns are made in a dental lab and take two dental visits to complete.
Instead of using messy traditional impression material, our Calgary dentists use CAD/CAM technology to take images and create precise digital models of your teeth to create a CEREC crown. The images are sent to a special machine, which mills a custom-made, perfectly shaded crown that will blend right in with you natural teeth. When your crown is ready, your dentist cements it to your tooth so you can enjoy your new smile and improved tooth function the same day!
Although same-day CEREC crowns are convenient, they are not suitable for everyone. Your dentist will do a thorough oral examination, take X-rays and determine whether a CEREC crown is right for you.
