We have dentists that speak English, French, Farsi, and Tagalog!
They are one of the most popular cosmetic dental procedures in dentistry and can benefit patients with a wide range of cosmetic issues.
Our cosmetic dentists have used them to transform the smiles of patients who have suffered from discolored teeth that do not respond to teeth whitening procedures, gaps between teeth and crooked, worn down or damaged teeth.
They are popular for many reasons. They offer some distinct advantages over other methods of restoring the appearance of your smile. Here are a few of the reasons our patients love them!
They Provide A Natural Tooth Appearance
Porcelain reflects light in a way that is very similar to your natural teeth. This makes them look extremely natural.
Gum Tissue Tolerates Well
Some dental restorations can irritate gum tissue or cause it to recede. Porcelain is easily accepted by the gum tissue – and of course healthy looking gums are essential to a beautiful smile!
They Are Stain Resistant
Since porcelain is stain resistant, you can continue to enjoy the foods and beverages you love. However, keep in mind that your new veneers still require the same amount of care that your natural teeth did. Cavities can still happen along the gum-line, so don’t neglect your dental care habits and jeopardize your investment in a beautiful new smile.
Their Color Can Be Selected
If you don’t have them placed on all the teeth visible in the smile line, you’ll still be able to match the veneer shade or color to your natural teeth.
They are thin porcelain shells bonded to the front surface of teeth to improve the appearance of your smile.
Are all of them created equally? Not exactly! There is some artistry involved in their creation- as the shade, shape and length is custom designed to fit you.
Our dentists are experienced veneer providers and take pride in sharing examples and reviews of our work!
The process of providing veneers is much the same as for crowns. Since the shells take some space, the teeth first need to be prepped for the porcelain veneers to fit. Prepping or shaping of the teeth for them is more conservative than for crowns, since it only involves the visible surface of the teeth.
Since the tooth must be shaped or prepped for it, our dentists will complete this in one visit, take a mold of the prepped teeth and apply temporary ones while your porcelain veneers are being crafted by our expert dental lab provider.
One to two weeks after the prepping session, we’ll have you back in to the clinic to bond the porcelain veneers to your teeth. At that point you’ll see the full effect of your smile makeover!
They can last 5 -10 years before needing to be replaced. You can take care of them just as you would take care of your natural teeth – brush and floss regularly and see our dental hygienist for regularly scheduled dental cleanings.
They may or may not be for you. At our clinic, we will assess your teeth to see if you are a good candidate for them or not. Since we care about you, we want to make sure you fully understand the process before making your decision.
